Homegrown beauty: An all-natural hair-care line made in Texas

Made in Texas: Dear Clark's new line

The hair gurus at Dear Clark salon have worked their tails off to give us an apothecary-inspired hair-care line, dubbed DEAR CLARK HAIR CARE, that is all-natural and made in Texas. The full line of five products includes Resurrecting Wash, Resurrecting Rinse, Thickening Balm, Smoothing Elixir and Finishing Salve and was developed by owners Holly Dear and Kaycee Clark to not contain sulfates, phosphates or parabens. What does that mean?

It promotes moisture and restores shine and health to your hair by way of its key ingredients: rose of Jericho, sunflower seed oil and aloe vera. You’ll notice while washing that the shampoo doesn’t lather. Don’t fret, it’s all part of the magic. The scent is amazing, too. Not the DIY type? My guilty pleasure on Thursdays after work is to make an appointment at Dear Clark’s McKinney Avenue salon to have my hair washed, my head massaged and have a blowout at the blow-dry lounge. Stylist Yessica Sanchez works her talents on my wavy hair, transforming it into luxurious splendor I could never achieve myself. —Ashley Robinson
