A peek inside Chopard's world (and decorator Michelle Nussbaumer's, too)

Last night was the kind of evening where you think to pinch yourself — only to realize that, yes, you are in the midst of thousands of dollars worth of Chopard jewels. Better yet, you’re in Dallas decorator Michelle Nussbaumer’s highly designed world, where the private party was held, to show off the latest sparklers from the house of Chopard.

Throughout the Nussbaumers’ home — it really is a luxurious lab, where she tries all kinds of decorating ideas — there are colors as rich as the Chopard drop earrings pictured above, and you can find inspirations within each room from all parts of the globe. Which comes at no surprise when you consider Michelle’s favorite place and favorite cocktail: the Maharani Suite in Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur, India, and a mint julep, the cocktail that reigns supreme back in the U.S. of A., in Kentucky.

Those in attendance certainly stretched across the continental U.S. as well. Editors from Veranda magazine, and its editor-in-chief Dara Caponigro, came from New York City, while the president & CEO of Chopard USA, Marc Hruschka, keeps himself busy attending the many Chopard events throughout the country. The other guests were a stylish bunch from all over Dallas: everyone from Michelle’s decorator cronies to glittery A-list socialites.

As a recent Dallas transplant myself, my wheels were turning with ideas of how to decorate my new apartment and fill my closet…and to make it all pinch-worthy.
