Francisco Costa, women's creative director of Calvin Klein, comes to Dallas

One might not expect the bold, colorful home of art collector Karla McKinley as the location for a party celebrating Calvin Klein’s minimalist creative director Francisco Costa. But considering Costa was in town for a special showing of his spring 2014 collection — that show was one of the rare times the designer strayed from minimalism and injected bursts of color into his work — it certainly made sartorial sense. That wild Tuesday night set the tone for Costa’s trunk show the next day at Stanley Korshak, where we met up with the designer for a post-party chat. (More on that later, but to give you a hint: We gabbed about everything from global cultures to why Sandra Bullock is having a moment. We even got to see Costa at work — fitting a fringed look from his collection on McKinley, naturally.)
